A Fresh Path to Learn Phonics
Oct 22
I have spent quiet a bit of time on the matter of phonics and have understood that the phonics is the easiest path through which a child can be taught about how to read. At that point of time, the next significant question in my mind was about how to teach phonics to the children.
There are some programs available in the market that is good for helping the children to learn phonics. I have noted that some of them are successful and some others are not. A research in to the reasons for the difference in success rates have provided the knowledge that the unsuccessful ones are lacking behind in the matter of innovation. One of the best programs that has caught my attention is the “An Ant–Learn To Read” program. This is the best evidence that I have to show that innovation is not a concept that is dead and over.
There are so many specialties associated with this specific program. The main thing is that this program is specifically aimed at the children who belong to the age group of 3 to 5 years. The content is provided in a simple format that can be easily understood by the kids. The slow pace of learning is another vital aspect. I have also noted that the artwork in the program is so good and appears to attract the children so much.
The author of the program, Kallie Woods has provided some information regarding his experience and the facts that has led to the formulation of the program as a conclusive one that can help the children learn phonics easily and systematically. Woods has also provided some of his personal experiences that have imparted the point about the importance of phonics as a technique to learn how to read. Some of these experiences feature the teaching faculties who were actually the teachers of Woods.
Many adults have the misconception that they have learnt to read, through learning small and easy words at first. Kallie Woods evidences that the best way to learn how to read is through the phonics. With regard to the name of the program, Woods have the opinion that the lessons about phonics starts with mainly six letters with which some simple words can be made. The ant is used as a character in the program, which the children like a lot.
Kallie Woods reports that her research suggests that kindergarten teachers are basically stuck with whatever curriculum their district has purchased; but they are often able to supplement with outside materials. She is hopeful that “An Ant” may be useful in many situations.
